Editor, then promoted to Technical Director in 1995, Trailer
Life Magazine and MotorHome Magazine, publications of The Affinity
Group, Inc. with a combined monthly circulation of 450,000 subscribers. Duties
included, but were not limited to, managing new RV and towing
vehicle road tests, technical and product evaluation feature
story segments, associated photography including frequent magazine
cover photo responsibilities, supervision of assistant editor(s),
and coordinating road test and feature story assignments from
a wide variety of freelance contributors. In addition
to monthly proofreading responsibilities and editorial oversight
of all technical information, provision of editorial and technical
oversight of related Affinity Group publications such as the
annual RV Buyer’s Guide. Experienced in the Macintosh
PC environment including the use of Word, QuarkXpress and Final
Cut Pro III digital video editing system.

Late 1983 - October 1985: Feature
Editor/Writer, Four Wheeler Magazine. Feature
and technical writer, technical how-to stories, racing, travel,
personality
profiles and new vehicle road tests. Also served
as the Southern California lead contact for visiting staffers
from 4x4 Magazine, the Japanese equivalent of the U.S. Four Wheeler
Magazine. Coordinated a 10-day event with group of
Japanese 4x4 Magazine staffers and two video crews filming U.S.-built
4x4 vehicles in a variety of U.S. off-pavement recreation locations.
February 1982 - late 1983: Editor,
Truckin' Magazine,
McMullen Publishing Co. Oversight of monthly magazine content
as well as direct preparation of feature and technical stories,
with related photography.
