What's New With Jeff!

February 16, 2010

I have a new part-time gig coming down the road, and it’s pretty exciting. I’ll be a co-host of a new cable TV show, called Rollin’ On TV, about RVs and the RV lifestyle. I’ll primarily be doing new product segments, vehicle feature stories and other hardware-related features, although a travel or destination type of subject could happen with me, as well. We’ll see how it goes. It should be great fun.

The press release announcement from the show's Producer, Jose Moniz, is as follows:

Starting this month, Rollin' ON TV will be hitting the road to start taping programs for the upcoming first season which begins airing the weekend of April 3rd. Stations and approximate times are available on our web site at:

We are proud to announce the addition of Roadmaster Inc. as one of our key sponsors. We're looking forward to working together with the staff at Roadmaster on some exciting projects this year that you'll see both on TV and on our web site.

We are also delighted to announce the addition of Jeff Johnston to our Rollin' On TV group. A Resident of Eugene, Oregon, and veteran of the automotive and RV media business, Jeff's journalism, photography and videography expertise will be a big asset in all aspects of our television and web productions. You'll be seeing him on-camera hosting our “What's New” segments along with co- hosting other segments. His years of experience will also be used in management and behind the scenes.

We have launched our basic web site and will be continually adding new features to it right up to the show's launch date.

I recently attended the final asset bankruptcy auction at the Country Coach headquarters in Junction City, Oregon. The result of that trip was a video clip for the website. It was a sad end to such a great company:

Progress continues apace on the model railroad layout Pam and I are constructing in our hobby room. While nearing completion of the layout’s helix, I shot some video and assembled these two “how-to” segments that are now part of the Youtube universe.

Part One covers the benchwork and subroadbed, and Part Two details the trackwork. Further layout construction has been temporarily halted while I work on my next model railroad “How-To” video project. When that’s finished, the layout moves ahead. Check out the helix clips at these links:
